She was commissioned to sing for The Blue Morocco Night Club in The Bronx which was where her agent had seen her. He obtained a contract for signing her with Capitol records in 1960, and she debuted the following year, with a single. Guess who saw today. Capitol has released five Nancy Wilson albums within two years. Her first album was focused on R&B however, under Adderley's influence, she began to embrace jazz. Nancy Wilson, Cannonball Adderley and their 1962 collaboration helped her reach the top. The singer had her breakout hit Tell Me the Truth by 1963.
